The peri/menopausal journey is defined by many layers of changes and challenges. Navigating this journey can be difficult for most women. This often comes at a time when there are other competing major life events such as a job/career change, illness or death of a family member, adult children precipitating an empty nest, and many more.
I had the recent privilege of talking with Jillian Rigert, DMD MD ACC about navigating career and health transitions as a guest on her podcast “Permission to Pivot.” It was a humbling interview with a gracious host. I sincerely hope you enjoy our discussion. Yes, it’s 50 minutes, but all you need to do is go get a nice cup of tea, coffee or ice water, put your feet up, and take a well-deserved break!
To tease your interest, we discussed—
Everything everywhere all at once
Pre/peri/post-pivot process
Tornado of moral injury, not burnout
Return of creativity
Moral injury defined
Erosion of patient confidence in systems
Stepping away and pressing the pause button
Adding value in a different way

Staying connected to others
Redefine what “busy” means
Reclaim values
Pausing to realign
Navigating a cancer diagnosis
4 things not to say to someone with cancer
Tap into inner creativity
Take time intentionally
