Originally from Seattle, I grew up in Ontario, Canada but made my way back to Washington State for college and beyond. My undergraduate degree was from the College of Architecture & Urban Planning at UW—go Dawgs! I moved on to receive my Doctor of Medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine followed by my residency in Internal Medicine at UW Department of Medicine, finishing up as Chief Resident in the Department of Medical Education at Swedish Medical Center.
I worked full-time in private practice from 1996 to 2021. Along the way I served as Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine in the UW Department of Medicine and have also chaired a number of professional committees in Integrative Medicine, Technology, Quality Management and Peer Review.
I have been honored to receive recognition from the National Committee for Quality Assurance related to the American Diabetes Association and the American Heart & American Stroke Associations. I have also appeared on listings of The Best Doctors in America, America’s Top Physicians, Puget Sound Top Doctors, AVVO Top Doctors, and Seattle Met Top Doctors.
I have been Board Certified through the American Board of Internal Medicine (1996-2024) as well as the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons (current). I have served in the American College of Physicians since 1993, elected as Fellow in 2021. I have served as a Delegate to the King County Medical Society and member of the Washington State Medical Association.
My volunteer experience spans many decades but I am most proud of serving on the Board of Directors of Cancer Lifeline, including as Board President. I was the recipient of the Inspirational Leadership Award in 2018 and was Volunteer of the Year in 2022-2023.
